Born into the family, chosen business partners

It’s true that you can’t choose your family. But if you choose to work together as a family, that does say something special.

“We noticed that customers reacted positively to the fact that my son, Christopher, accompanied me to client meetings,” says Luc. “The fact that we were a family business somehow helped to forge a bond with our customers and strengthen our company’s credibility. We realised that our family ties could become our unique selling point. Levaco is an SME and a large proportion of our customers are also SMEs. The family structure and the family atmosphere create a sense of trust and reliability.”

It wasn’t just Christopher who followed in his father’s footsteps; his sisters Alycia and Lyanne did too. Alycia is part of the Levaco team, whilst Lyanne works for their sister company Atlas, an international network organisation that works closely with Levaco and is based on the same floor. Team-building activities, for example, are regularly organised between the two companies to promote cohesion and engagement.

Advantages

According to Alycia, one of the biggest advantages of a family business is that they are very proactive and that there is always someone available to consult in an emergency or to help brainstorm possible solutions, regardless of office hours. There is a strong commitment to providing the best possible service to customers, partners and suppliers alike. As we are a family business, we all pitch in wherever and whenever needed and take on a wide variety of tasks. Because we work closely together, we can also easily support the various departments when necessary.
